Fiat is stepping up its game in the electric vehicle market by reintroducing its exclusive ‘E-Grant,’ which offers customers a substantial £1,500 discount on its popular electric models, including the Fiat 500e city car and 600e small SUV, alongside their sportier Abarth variants.

This move comes as the brand waits for confirmation regarding the eligibility of its electric vehicles (EVs) for the new government grant. With rising competition in the EV sector, Fiat aims to maintain its edge by lowering prices and enhancing affordability for potential buyers.

Background of the E-Grant

The E-Grant program was first launched in 2023, designed to offset the loss of the previous Plug-in Car Grant (PiCG) that the UK Government discontinued. This initiative not only provides savings but is also available in conjunction with enticing retail offers like 0% APR financing for the Fiat 500e.

If you're seeking great deals on the Fiat 500e, there are used options currently available for approximately £10,000, making this an appealing choice for budget-conscious buyers.

Giuseppe Cava, Fiat's UK Managing Director, emphasized the company’s dedication to making electric driving more accessible: “By reintroducing our E-Grant for our fully electric models from Fiat and Abarth, we are supporting our customers in their transition to electric driving.”

Current Pricing and Specs

Thanks to the £1,500 discount, the starting price for the Fiat 500e is now £25,035, with options for both hatchback and soft-top cabriolet body styles. However, entry-level models come equipped with a 24kWh battery, which provides an estimated range of 118 miles. For those who wish to extend their range to 199 miles, an upgrade to a 42kWh battery is available for an additional £3,000.

On the performance side, the Abarth 500e starts from £29,985, including the larger battery pack by default. This model boasts a robust 152bhp electric motor, allowing it to accelerate from 0-62 mph in just seven seconds.

The Fiat 600e, on the other hand, begins at £30,035 and offers a commendable range of 250 miles with its 54kWh battery. The sportier Abarth 600e, now priced from £36,985, stands out as the brand's most powerful road car to date, featuring an impressive 278bhp, enhanced chassis, upgraded brakes, and a mechanical limited-slip differential.
