GWM (Great Wall Motor) is launching its Poer 300, a capable diesel pick-up truck, aimed at providing exceptional utility at a competitive price in the UK market. Starting at £31,495 (excluding VAT), the Poer 300 aims to be one of the most economical options available, undercutting popular models like the Isuzu D-Max, Volkswagen Amarok, and Maxus T60, while being only slightly more expensive than the entry-level Ford Ranger and KGM Musso.
Key Features and Specifications
The Poer 300 features a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 181bhp and 354 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission, providing reliable power to all four wheels. Although full performance specs have yet to be released, GWM claims a combined fuel efficiency of 32.7 mpg based on the WLTP cycle.
Off-Road Capabilities
Equipped with impressive off-road specifications, the Poer 300 boasts an approach angle of 27 degrees, a departure angle of 25 degrees, and a ground clearance of 230 mm. The permanent all-wheel-drive system and electronic locking rear differential promise outstanding off-road performance, making it suitable for various terrains and conditions.
Variants and Availability
The pick-up is already available in markets such as Australia under the name Cannon Ute, and it will reach UK dealerships starting September. It will come in three trim levels: Lux, Ultra, and the high-end Vanta.
